Just today, Moogfest organizers announced additions to the already jam-packed festival lineup — but this time, the newly-added acts include a handful of local electronic bands.
Says the press release, “We continue to round up the ultimate lineup, including many special late night performances to be held at Club 828 and the Moogaplex.” (Club 858 is located at 64 Carter St.; The Moogaplex will be inside the Haywod Park Hotel.)
Additions to Friday’s schedule include Javelin from Brooklyn, Star Mountain, Lorn, and local downtempo duo (sometimes trio) Paper Tiger. (Read a review of Paper Tiger, pictured below, here.)
Additions to the Saturday lineup include Alex B of Pnuma Trio (and Pnuma Trio, too), Portland’s The Volt Per Octaves with special guest Bernie Worrell, LA-based modulator Nosaj Thing and Projek Moog with LA-based producer Brian Kehew. Local acts are Strut, RBTS WIN and DJ Bowie (pictured above).
Additions to the Sunday lineup include Dark Party from N.Y., Shout Out Out Out Out (which has no less than 11 synthesizer), Headtronics (the collaboration of DL Logic, Steve Molitz and Freekbass), MartyParty, and Gramatik. Locals on the bill are dubstep DJs Mindelixer and DJ Thump (pictured above).
Also, according to Moogfest organizers, “Late Nights at the Moogaplex are being presented by Resident Advisor; DJ Times will be presenting the ‘Last Gasp’ at Club 828 featuring MartyParty.” Moogfest takes place Friday, Oct. 29-Sunday, Oct. 31 in downtown Asheville.
