Widespread Panic’s spring tour started in January, in the Dominican Republic. And it continues in April with 16 dates that come as close to Asheville as Knoxville. But if you don’t want to drive, or wait, you can catch Widespread Panic tribute band Machine Funk this Saturday (March 16) at Asheville Music Hall.
According to Machine Funk’s website, they “formed in the summer of 2006 in Florence, S.C.” and have a repertoire that includes “songs from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Talking Heads and many others. MachineFunk has shared the stage with Keller Williams, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, North Mississippi Allstars, and Jojo Herman of Widespread Panic. Each show is a musical journey that can’t be explained, only experienced!”
10 p.m., $6 in advance or $8 day of show. Xpress will give away a pair of tickets on Thursday, at noon, via Facebook.
