American Folk Art & Framing announced the return of its annual Miniatures Show. Held each year around Valentine’s Day, the collection of small works are as heartfelt as they are adorable.
“Our folks create small works for this show all year long, and begin sending them in January,” says gallery owner Betsey-Rose Weiss in a press release. “We love those little containers coming our way in the dark days of winter.” This year’s show includes three potters, eight painters, one woodblock printmaker, and American Folk’s newest artist, self-taught collage maker Bruce New.
Says the press release, “No direction is given concerning theme or subject matter, the only restriction is that the sizes must be diminutive [no bigger than 8 x 10 for painters, no bigger than 6 inches tall for potters].” The eighth annual [Beloved] Miniatures Show is on exhibit from Thursday, Feb. 9 through Wednesday, Feb. 29 with an opening reception on Friday, Feb. 10.
