Local indie-pop outfit Decent Lovers just dropped a glitchy, static-y, fully-caffeinated new track. “Keep It Together” hopefully sets the stage for a forthcoming album. If so, it’s a fine start, The upbeat melody marries potentially-cloying sentiment (“our love makes everything so much better”) with fuzzy, psychedelic-edged semi-garage-y (a very clean garage) instrumentation that keeps it just gritty enough.
The song was written and produced by Elijah Wyman — he also sings and plays guitar, bass and fake drums. Also on the track: J.C. Hayes of Doc Aquatic, Arlie Huffman, Miles Britton and Thomas McNeely.
