Hello Hugo, Lassos and Shod My Feet at the Get Down

Instrumental/experimental quartet Hello Hugo (Nick Prather, Rosser Douglas and Justin Holt of Sea Whistle with Reid Weigner) headlines a triple local lineup this Saturday, July 14 at The Get Down.

Music starts around 9 p.m. with indie-pop outfit Shod My Feet. Led by singer-songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist Emily Keebler (with Sherman Hoover on bass/synthesizer/backing vocals and Andrew Ross on drums/backing vocals), that band is in the process of finishing an album. It’s been a little while since Shod My Feet has played around Asheville regularly but for good reason (a baby). And previews of the new songs reveal material well worth the wait.

New band Lassos (Keebler and Ryan Barrington Cox from The If You Wannas — the parents of the above mentioned baby) round out the evening. Their songs hint at both Shod My feet and the Ifs, which a great sense of rhythm, whimsy, drive and off-kilter pop savvy.
