With the end of April approaching, anticipation for LEAF is in the air. Performers from every end of the spectrum will be in attendance and this spring’s schedule is jam-packed full of rich sounds and songs. A look at some highlights:
To kick off the weekend, Maceo Parker and his funk orchestra play Friday night.
On Saturday night, Grammy Award-winning singer Angelique Kidjo will be gracing the stage, after having previously performed at the World Cup kick-off concert and being named “Africa’s premier diva.”
Hot on her heels, The Spam Allstars will bring their improvisational electro-funk/latin/hip-hop, which they classify as “electronic descarga,” to Lake Eden.
On Sunday, local folk/bluegrass band Acoustic Syndicate (pictured here) will be returning to LEAF with their vibrant hits that have previously drawn even more vibrant crowds.
Sunday afternoon, Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder will be performing some of their very own bluegrass/country hits (hot on the heels of his solo album Mosaic).
