For those of you who like your entertainment a little on the naughty side, The Joli Rouge is hosting Grounded: The Big Nasty Fetish Freak Show on Saturday, Feb. 3 ,starting at 11 p.m.
This will be the second Grounded event, which the organizers describe as “a monthly fetish, fashion and performance art show.” Evidently, the idea is a little artistically deep than a bunch of semi-naked goth kids whipping each other. In fact, it appears to be a kind of counter-culture catch-all, with piercings (regular, as well as non-permanent “play” piercings), industrial/goth DJs, dancing and a smattering of dark-themed visual arts.
Performances for this event include:
11 p.m. – The Human Candelabra
11:20 p.m. – Frolic of the Marching Fallacies
11:40 p.m. – Blood Red Sexy Jell-o Fight of Pleasure
12 a.m. – The Glory of the Gimp
12:30 a.m. – Dawn of Dante’s Vision Nuevo Show
and interludes by the Black Light Puppet Show
Musical performers include DJs Joshu and Nothing Man, with other performances by The Hula Massive. Fire dancers may also be on hand for performances in the courtyard, and several local fashion fashion designers will be displaying their work.
Admission is $10, or $7 if you’re donned in your best fetish duds. Joli Rouge is 21-and-over club, so if you aren’t a member you’ll need to pick up a membership a few days prior to the show ($5).
