In this week’s podcast, Xpress film critics Hanke and Souther: Praise Inception, lambast Cyrus and react noncommittally to The Sorcerer’s Apprentice; get gleefully evil about The Invisible Man; consider the impact of the original Imitation of Life; and weigh the prospects of upcoming releases Salt, Ramona and Beezus and I Am Love.
Podcast produced/“cohered” by Steve Shanafelt for MountainX.com. The theme music is “1832” by E. Lee. Podcast art by Jeremy Dylan. The Elitist Bastards podcast is also available on the iTunes store as a free download.

While I do think that Monkey Trouble is a very underrated simian comedy, I will have my revenge for this obvious travesty of a farce of a sham of two farces. Two can play this game, Justin Souther — at least they can if they have access to Jeremy Dylan’s skills.
Another Hanke-related item I have to avoid until I see INCEPTION. That’s it, I’m off the bloody pictures tonight – the first time I’ve seen a movie on opening night. Then I listen to this, read Ken’s review, the thread on the SS Forums, the article about the best films of the year.
Granted not all mumblecore is great but i wouldn’t lump it all into one category of “20 somethings bitching about their life for an hour and a half”.

I’m sure your life will be ever so much better after you do.

I wouldn’t have expected you to.

You’re right. Some mumblecore films are much longer than 90 minutes.

Much as I dislike web-speak and its various bits of initialism-speak, that’s clearly a “Jeremy FTW” moment. (Now, watch the convey some entirely different — and probably offensive — meaning is Australia.)
FTW? Fort Worth?
FTW? Fort Worth?
For the win.
Jeremy FTW

I can only hope this caused visions of simians to dance in your head.
