While the news hasn’t been posted to the official Bele Chere Web site, Xpress has learned that Dirtfoot, “the only front porch, whiskey swillin, foot stomping, Gypsy, punk, country, grumble, boogie band in the land” (according to the band’s website), has cancelled its Bele Chere show, scheduled for 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Instead, local act The Swayback Sisters, featuring the three-part harmonies of talented songstresses Laura Blackley, Nikki Talley and Lyndsay Wojcik, will perform.

“Sunday night, July 18, our singer, Matt Hazelton, had to undergo an emergency appendectomy. He is currently resting in the hospital and will spend the next few weeks resting at home. He is doing well and the doctors are expecting a full recovery.
Matt and his family would like to thank everyone for all their well wishes and concerns. They appreciate everyones thoughts and he hopes to be back up and running very soon.
Due to this unforseen event, we have cancelled this weekends shows, Nashville, Greensboro and Asheville. We will be booking some makeup shows asap and hope to get there sooner than later.”
