David Wax Museum from Boston (by way of the rest of the world) closed out Bele Chere on Sunday, playing the Coxe Avenue stage to a decent-sized crowd. The band (with Wax’s cousin Jordan Wax, of People’s Republic of Klezmerica, on keys and accordion) noted that this was its best Asheville performance to date. Really, DWM is the sort of band that should attract a large local crowd. They toe the line between acoustic and electric, world-beat and folk-rock, eccentric and catchy.
