Local pop-noir outfit, Alligator Indian, just released a new video for their song, “Dark Fruit” (from this year’s Spring I’m In). Cinematography by documentary filmmaker Della Sainty, with appearances by friends of the band.
“We know Halloween is technically over, but the season never dies in our hearts and we hope the video is as creepy, campy, and fun as the actual holiday,” says Christian Church. And this, from a press release: “With the visual elements, we wanted to not only showcase our set-up and style, but our love of all things Halloween-y. A lot of our songs, including this one, can sound fairly dark, but we try to always have a vein of humor and whimsy present. We enjoy the campiness of it all, and we wanted to showcase that in the video. The song is, after all, a happy one, with lyrics about love and hope along with the ones about death and loss. We thinks it’s important to balance all those elements and never lean too far to either extreme.”
The video debuted on Portal. Read a review of Spring I’m In here.
