Is your pooch ready for his close-up? Does your kitten yearn for the spotlight? Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation will accept photographs for its 7th annual pet photography contest through March 25.
Categories include Best in Show, Dog, Cat, Puppy, Kitten, photographers under the age of 12, Sarge Rescue and Other (one of last year’s winers was a guinea pig!). The winning photos will be displayed at the Haywood County Library.
If your kid can hold a camera, she’s old enough to be a photography star. “We hope that we’ll have more entrants in the ‘Under 12’ category this year. The contest is a great opportunity for young people to show off their photography skills by taking picture of their pets.”
Sorry professional photographers, the contest is for amateurs only. Entry forms are available on Sarge’s website as well as at The Dog House, 304 N. Haywood St., Waynesville; Mountain Dreams Reality, 3457 Soco Road, Maggie Valley; Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery, 102 N. Main St., Waynesville; and Sarge’s Adoption Center, 256 Industrial Park Drive.
No electronic submissions will be accepted and photos cannot be returned. Past winners have found out about the contest through Xpress, so animal-lovers take note. Your pet might be next!
