As part of its ongoing series Prime Time: New Media Juried Exhibition, the Asheville Art Museum will host a special screening of Joel Tauber’s Sick-Amour, documentary/personal saga/nature study, on Sunday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at 2 S. Pack Square. The filmmaker, an assistant professor of art in new media at Wake Forest University, will be there for a post-flick Q-and-A.
According to Tauber’s website, the 33-minute film documents his discovery, observation and eventual stewardship of a single sycamore tree “stuck in the middle of a giant parking lot in front of the Rose Bowl” in Pasadena, Calif.
