If Oakland, Calif.-based collective Antioquia (an-tee-OH-kee-ah) is really on the ball, they’ll stop by the Friday night drum circle in Pritchard Park before heading down the block for their 9 p.m. show at One Stop. Why? Because the the group, known for its blend of psychedelic rock and Afro-Columbian rhythms, is really comfortable with a lot of percussion. Each of the five members (Rachel Antony-Levine, Adley, Paul Martin, Craig “Animal” Miller and Tomas Salcedo) plays percussion on stage. And “stuff,” according to the band’s Facebook bio.
They’d also be right at home at Funk Jam — the 13 tracks of recently-released Viajero showcase funk and jazz influences, along with spoken word and some serious experimentation.
