I wish everyone in the 10th Congressional District would have the opportunity to know Tate MacQueen as I do. I’ve known him his entire life, and I’m very proud that this year he is running for the U. S. House of Representatives. Let me tell you why I, as a lifelong Republican, want to see Tate in Congress, holding the seat my cousin-in-law Jim Broyhill, so ably filled for many years.
As the father of two wonderful children, Tate is deeply concerned about the future of our country. As a beloved teacher and coach, he knows the importance of strong schools. As someone who recognized the grave danger an abandoned, polluted manufacturing site posed to his neighbors, he has spent years working to remediate the site and help those neighbors rebuild their lives. He sacrificed much to help neighbors in need, including making countless trips to Washington on their behalf.
Tate MacQueen wants our educational institutions, from public schools to community colleges to universities, to be better so our young people can have productive, fulfilling lives. He wants our tremendous natural resources to be used wisely so generations to come will have clean water and clean air.
Most of all, Tate MacQueen wants to represent the citizens of Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston, Cleveland, Polk, Rutherford, and Buncombe counties because he believes a spirit of cooperation and civility can — and must — be restored in the halls of Congress, like it was when Jim Broyhill represented us.
Tate is bright, articulate, and compassionate. He is passionate about public service, and I believe he will represent all of us — Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike —- with an open mind on the critical issues our nation faces. I have utmost confidence in his ability to do so. Please consider voting for Tate MacQueen to be our representative in Congress.
