Amy Sedaris is coming back to Asheville

While I was perusing twitter this afternoon, I notice Robin Plemmons asking Malaprop’s if there was any news on author/comedian Amy Sedaris coming to Asheville.

Sedaris actually grew up just down the road from Asheville (in Raleigh). She now lives in N.Y. and is know for roles like Jerri Blank in Strangers With Candy (she’s also worked on dozens of films). Her hilarious author/playwright brother David Sedaris has come to Asheville twice in the past year. But Amy hasn’t been to town since a 2006 book tour for I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence.

Good news: Amy has a new book out: Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People and, according to her book tour dates she’ll be at Malaprop’s on Friday, Nov. 12.

No word about the event yet on the Malaprop’s website, but keep checking back. This is likely to be a super-fun and popular event — if it’s ticketed, plan to get yours early.
