As referenced in your article of Nov. 26 [“Asheville City Council: Bad News Budget”], City Council has already started questioning the results of a survey of Asheville residents conducted over the summer by a “consulting firm hired by Council back in April,” expressing “doubts about their significance,” stating that they “feared the responses may have been skewed by certain high-profile events taking place at the time” and that “only people with a bone to pick” would take the trouble to send back the survey.
How much did we pay to have this survey conducted, and why? Why does City Council continue to spend our money on consulting firm after consulting firm, just to discount their conclusions—especially if [Council members] have already drawn their own?
