Hey, remember when blogs were called “diaries?” Those pen-and-paper throwbacks filled with personal stories and incidental observations? Well, in what could be our favorite emerging trend, bloggers are posting old diary entries on their blogs. Wheels within wheels, people.
We already told you about the time How to Take a Fall posted an essay about journaling, complete with revealing entries. Now Virtual Inanity has gotten into the game, posting samples from a friend’s diary. But we missed the accompanying event in which people read aloud from their diaries, which we’re sure was awesome.
And it’s all about stories, right? That’s what we’re here for. Be they touching tales or rants, the blog world is all about sharing stories we wouldn’t run into otherwise.
Like Restless Mama’s awkward conversation about pot, involving her kid and an 8-year-old.
Then there’s the conundrum posed by Trapdoor into Dinosaur Pit: Did I leave my car somewhere or was it stolen? (Hint: It was stolen. UPDATE!: And found.)
A World Born has this excellent account of a house concert that the cops totally did not bust. Punks rule! Except the ones from Lansing, Mich., sleeping on the floor.
The Avant Garden has his tallest rock stack yet, but only a blurry bear, while Asheville On the Ground, contrary to its name, is sitting in chairs while keeping vigil at the magnolia tree.
And if you are ever wondering about the day-to-day activities of a human statue, Mountain Circus Arts has this story.
To the diarists, thanks for the memories. And bloggers, keep ‘em coming.
