In case you haven’t heard, the Asheville arts world is all a-twitter (sorry) about HATCHfest (www.ashevillehatchfest.org), a proposed multidisciplinary networking convention to be held next year. Arts luminaries came out of the woodwork for a Hatchfest preview party at Echo Mountain Recording Studio (14 N. French Broad Ave., Asheville), representing music, technology and literary and visual arts, among other fields. Fashion made a prominent showing, too, as local designer R. Brooke Priddy of Ship to Shore sent models adorned with her creations into the crowd. Xpress photographer Jonathan Welch took these shots.

• Dresses from Priddy’s current collection show easy glamour, thanks to stretchy, body-conscious fabrics.

• Photographer Jason Briscoe captured Priddy (center) with her eight models.

Designers, boutique owners and fashionistas, it’s time to get organized. There’s a coalition-building move afoot, geared toward creating support and empowerment in the local fashion and clothing scene. Interested? The inaugural meeting takes place tonight (Wednesday, Feb. 13) from 6 to 9 p.m. at the West Asheville Library (942 Haywood Road). Info: alexis@lushlifeoriginals.com or 254-7931.
