Fans of Agency Films’ notable projects, like the annual, touring Hobo Film Festival, have the opportunity to hop on board the company’s latest endeavor: a retrospective of boxcar artist and ex-railroader Russell Butler.
Butler, aka “Buz Blurr” or “Colossus of Roads,” has been written about by the likes of Swindle magazine. He will appear at the spring Hobo Film Festival kickoff, and is also featured in Bill Daniel’s boxcar film “Who is Bozo Texino”. And, he’s the celebrated artist at the Saturday, April 19 Repertoire of Reprehensible Acts: a Buz Blurr retrospective, held at Eyesore Studios (123 B Roberts St., Asheville). The 5 p.m. show includes local artists Ted Harper, Aron Flanagan, Galen Frost, Crkt and Tami-Lu, live music from Tony Wain and the Payne and Queen Anne’s Revenge with a screening of Erik Burke’s film “Road To Colossus.”
Following the April 19 opening, the show will be on display at Dang Salon (857 Merrimon Ave.) until Saturday, May 31.
