North Carolina Creative Autistic Living and Learning, Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization founded by parents and professionals who understand Autism. One in 150 births may be affected by this life-long neurological disorder. NCCALL is dedicated to providing persons living with Autism in WNC the means to reach their full potential as productive citizens within their own communities. NCCALL’s goal is to hold creative “Autist” workshops and to assist Autistic individuals in the production and marketing of their work. NCCALL is currently hosting a call for entries for an online showcase of Autistic creativity entitled “AUTISTS.” This noncompetitive forum is open to all Autistic persons in the WNC region.
“As our Autistic children age, parents are faced with the dilemma of finding programs suitable for their special needs,” says Mike Bazzel, parent of a 20-year-old son on the Autism spectrum and one of the founding board members of NCCALL, Inc. “We want our son to enjoy a sense of accomplishment within his community, and the vision of NCCALL addresses our concerns in a proactive realistic way.”
