Ruth Bell Graham, wife of evangelist Billy Graham, died Thursday around 5 p.m. at the family’s home in Montreat. She was 87.
Out of respect for Mrs. Graham and the family’s long ties here, the Buncombe County Commissioners declared Saturday, June, 16 a day of mourning. Flags outside county buildings will fly at half-staff through Sunday.
Memorial services for Graham will be held tomorrow in Montreat.
