Mountain Voices Alliance looks at Fairview development

Mountain Voices Alliance will offer a community forum on development issues in southeast Buncombe County at the Fairview Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.

“We’re getting so many calls from people in the Fairview area worried about steep-slope development, gated communities, loss of their rural sense of place and — the biggie — the result this development is having on their taxes and their ability to hold onto their land,” says MVA spokesperson Heather Rayburn.

The meeting is open to all; the Community Center is at 1355 Charlotte Highway, across from the Fairview Food Lion store. For more information, visit the Mountain Voices Alliance Web site.
