Asheville band Reigning Sound to back Mary Weiss on Conan O’Brien

HARP Magazine is reporting that local garage rockers The Reigning Sound will be backing singer Mary Weiss on NBC’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien on Tuesday, Mar. 13. Weiss is best known as lead singer of the Shangri-Las, who performed many hit songs in the mid-1960s, including the classic song “Leader of the Pack.” Her appearance on Conan will feature songs from her new album, Dangerous Game, which she created in collaboration with Reigning Sound frontman Greg Cartwright. HARP will be running a feature story on the collaboration in their May issue.
