Western North Carolinians looking to stay fit and blow off steam might turn to yoga or try outdoor activities like running, hiking or biking. But these days, growing numbers of area residents are taking their quest to a different level that includes armbars, takedowns and sometimes getting punched in the face.
“Since 2006, Mountain BizWorks has participated in the SBA microlending program. In that time, it has provided SBA loans to over 80 startups and 150 existing businesses,” Mike Arriola commented. “But beyond the statistics, they are helping to create the American dream for individual entrepreneurs like Greg who just spoke.”
The stealthy stitchers of Purl’s Yarn Emporium are at it again. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, Wall Street was transformed with knit and crochet creations. As with their installations last spring and fall, the stitchers will be adorning many fixtures along the quaint street. This fall, however, they have added a much larger target to their yarn-bombing: the Flat Iron sculpture.
