Asheville brewers celebrate the industry at the Great American Beer Festival
About 60,000 beer lovers and brewers attended this year’s Great American Beer Festival Sept. 24-26 in Denver. Among them were representatives from several WNC breweries, a couple of whom brought home coveted medals in the event’s beer competitions. Bothwell: Poll says 86 percent of Asheville voters support park
In a press conference across the street from the so-called “Pit of Despair,” Asheville City Councilman and Buncombe County Board of Commissioners candidate Cecil Bothwell said this morning that a poll conducted by his campaign shows that 86 percent of likely Asheville voters favor a park on the city-owned parcel opposite the Basilica of St. Lawrence and the U.S. Cellular Center.
