Goal!!! U.S. beats Algeria 1-0 in today’s World Cup match
The U.S. defeated Algeria 1-0 with a goal scored in the final minutes of today’s World Cup match. The dramatic win allows the U.S. team to advance to round two of the Cup for the first time since 2002. Local soccer fans packed downtown Asheville establishments to watch the game and chants of “USA!” could be heard on the streets after the victory.
