The Asheville Transit System won’t run this coming Monday, April 5, as Easter Monday is “one of 8 days throughout the calendar year that Asheville Transit does not operate,” according to an announcement from the city.

“Forest Service Huey is now on site at Swannanoa fire. It’s dipping out of Owen Park. Five buckets down now,” Aaron D. D’Innocenzi said via Twitter at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, shortly after firefighters managed to build a containment line all the way around the 35-acre fire off Sims Lane, north of Bee Tree Road.
