Phish tickets error explained
Demand had never been so high for an Asheville Civic Center show, said Sherman Bass, the venue’s executive director. Staff had put a hold on tickets through the computer system, live operator phone system and through sales at Ticketmaster outlets (such as record stores). But because they didn’t also restrict sales through Ticketmaster’s automated system, the tickets still sold out.
Buncombe County Commissioners preview: New URTV rules?
As controversy continues over transparency issues at URTV, the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners is set to step in. At its Feb. 3 meeting, the board will consider amending the county’s operating agreement with the public-access channel to require it to follow the state’s open-meetings law.
Realserv ramps up plans, signs Brad Daugherty
Asheville-based company Realserv, which plans to set up a sizable customer-support center for real-estate agents, is moving along with plans to bring hundreds of jobs to the area and last week landed a local celebrity spokesperson.
