The protesting polar bears are back, this time with a holiday theme.

The city of Asheville is still silent on the exact occurrence that led to the barring of resident Reid Thompson from public buildings without prior notice and an escort. But in response to questions from Xpress, the City Manager’s office did send this document, which outlines the city’s workplace violence policy.

Asheville City Council member Carl Mumpower resigned from the city’s Public Safety Committee Tuesday night during a discussion of a gun buy-back program intended to stave off gang violence, and later opted out of the Revenue and Finance Committee as well.
